Information emailed 8-12-2020 to students regarding CCP:

For those of you who intend to take CCP this year, please take note of the following reminders and follow up as necessary:

1. If you are taking a CCP class at CMHS with a CMHS teacher, you do not need to register yourself for the class online, nor do you need to send me any information about registration.  As long as you have not received a message from me saying that you need to test or apply in order to be placed in the class, you should be set and do not need to take action (as long as you see the class on your schedule).  If you did get a message about testing/applications, please take care of that ASAP; otherwise, you will be removed from the course and placed into a CMHS course equivalent.

If you see CCP courses on your schedule and no longer wish to take the course, please let me know ASAP so that we can change your schedule.

2. If you are taking an online or in-person CCP class at any college this fall, you should have sent your registration information to me via email.  If you are registered and haven't done so, please send me an email with that ASAP (create a new message for that; don't reply to this one with registrations, please).  As a reminder, I need the following information in order to ensure that your transcript is correct and that your funding will go through:
1. complete course name (ex: English Composition I or Computer Applications)
2. course number (ex: ENG 1201 or COMM 1100 or MAT 1457)
3. section number (ex: ENG 1201-503 or COMM 1100-5B1)
4. how many credits each course is worth
5. whether each course is online or in-person

3. You are going to order your own books for all off-campus classes this fall.  If you're not sure how to do that, you will need to contact your college CCP advisor and/or the college bookstore. Sinclair sent me their bookstore information, so I have attached it for your convenience. Please note that if you have questions regarding books for Sinclair, please contact the bookstore directly prior to contacting the CCP office. Their contact information is at the bottom of the flyer.  Please note that you cannot purchase books until 10 days before the courses begin for fall.

4. If you are a Sinclair student, please take note they have created a new position at the college to better serve you.  Samantha Small ( will serve as the student liaison for CCP this year.  If you have any questions or need, she will be your primary contact for help (instead of Cyrus Stork, who you probably used to contact). If you have questions or need help, please email Samantha Small.

Information emailed to students on 6-12-20 regarding CCP:

June 15 is Sinclair's deadline for applications to be a student for fall semester.  If you intend to take classes, and you have not applied, you have until Monday to do so.  If you haven't applied, you must do so by going to their website to complete the application.  Please keep in mind that I can't see your application or anything else in their system, so if you're not sure or have questions, please call the CCP office at Sinclair or email I can tell you that they sent me a spreadsheet last week of those who hadn't completed the application and if you were on it as incomplete, I emailed you and your parent to let you know.
Second, they are still conducting remote placement testing.  Information about testing (who needs to test and what to do) can be found on the testing center page of their website, was emailed to you previously in the spring, and can also be found on C-M's CCP page.   For those who signed up for classes held at CMHS and haven't completed testing, I emailed you and your parents this week; if you received that email, you need to get yourself signed up to test, or you will be removed from the courses in August.  For questions about placement testing, please call the CCP office or email
Fall registration for Sinclair is now open.  Please remember that you are to send me your registration information every time you add/drop/change a class.  This is very important in order to ensure that you will receive funding and that your transcripts will be correct.  For courses you are taking at CMHS, I will send Sinclair/Southern State a registration list (you don't send me anything).  For courses you are taking online or at a campus (at any college), you need to send me the following information:
1. Complete (not abbreviated) course name (ex: English Composition I)
2. Course number (ex: ENG 1101 or COMM 2407)
3. Section number (ex: ENG 1101-536 or COMM-2407-6B0)
4. Number of credit hours for each course (a number from 1-5)
5. whether each course is online or in-person
I will get you more information regarding textbooks for fall (it'll depend on COVID), but most likely, you'll be buying directly from the bookstore.  Books for fall will not be available for purchase until the middle/end of August; when they are available, I will email you to let you know.
If you have questions, it would be best to call Sinclair.  Mrs. Potts and I do not have access to their system, and we won't be able to help you (except with questions related to the high school).

Information emailed to students on 4-16 regarding CCP changes because of COVID-19:
Students were emailed information regarding Sinclair's updates based on changes from ODE.  That email included the following two documents that students who are participating in CCP for 2020-2021 should read:

Sinclair's Updated Policies Based on ODE Changes (4-16)

Sinclair Remote Placement Testing Directions (4-16) (placement testing from home)

Information emailed to students on 4-9 regarding summer courses
If you are taking summer courses this year through CCP, I need the following information once you have registered:

1. Course name (ex: English Composition I)
2. Course number (ex: ENG 1101)
3. Section number (ex: ENG 1101-501   or MAT 1470-5TB)
4. the number of credit hours it's worth
5. Whether it's online or in-person

I also need to know what school you are attending.  Lastly, for summer books, you will need to order required books from the bookstore.  Because we want to keep all of us safe, we will not be passing out books for summer classes.

Contact the bookstore for the college you are attending for information about how to get your books.  Do not pay for anything yourself; it should be charged to CMHS because you are a CCP student.  Most of Sinclair's books have an online format for their book.  Please select the cheapest option and do not charge anything that is listed as "optional" or "recommended," as those are NOT covered under CCP.

New Info from ODE 3-30-20 (emailed to students 3-30-20)
ODE has extended the deadline to May 1 for the Intent to Participate forms.  You can submit these forms in the mail addressed to the high school counseling office.  You can also email the completed forms to

Sinclair may be changing their policies for placement testing based on new changes at ODE (possibly using GPA instead of placement testing). They have not yet made a decision; as soon as we know their plan, we will let you know via email.

The following information was emailed to CMHS students on 3-13-2020:

If you signed up for testing on March 26 with Sinclair, it is cancelled.  If you need to test to be eligible for Sinclair testing, you will have to go to Sinclair for testing.  At this time, we are NOT planning to reschedule the testing at CMHS.
As of 3-24, the testing centers are not open, and Sinclair is displaying the following message on the testing center page:  "No in-person services will be available at all Sinclair locations until further notice."  As such, those of you who need to test will be unable to do so until further notice.  If you would like to monitor their testing website, here is the link:
In the coming weeks, I strongly recommend that you call before traveling there to ensure that they're open and that your paperwork has been processed.  The testing center's number is 934-512-2211.

As of today, 3-13-2020, all authorization forms that were submitted to the high school have been sent to Sinclair.  If yours says that it is still missing and you turned it in at CMHS, most likely Sinclair has not had the chance to process it yet.  Please be patient with Sinclair as they have fewer staff members working right now as well.
If you have questions for Sinclair, you can call the CCP office at 937-512-5188.

Information for CCP for 2020-2021 School Year
There will be an optional informational session for students and their parents held at CMHS on February 6, 2020.  This will take place from 7:00-7:30 p.m. in the auditeria.  Representatives from Sinclair College will be coming to present general information about the College Credit Plus program in the state of Ohio.  This session is optional, and repeat CCP students/parents need not attend; students/parents who are new to CCP are encouraged (but not required) to attend.

If you were unable to attend the informational session on February 6, the PowerPoint presentation can be viewed here

Dates are now scheduled for mandatory CCP "counseling sessions" required by the state in order for students to participate in CCP.
The student and a parent are both required to participate, even if the student has previously participated in CCP

All students who plan to participate in College Credit Plus for the 2020-2021 school year must complete the state-required counseling in order to participate in the CCP program. This year, we will have two types of counseling sessions available, in-person counseling and electronic counseling.

In-person counseling sessions will take place on February 27, March 3, and March 5. We recommend in-person counseling sessions for all those who are new to the program or who would like the chance to ask questions.

Sessions will take place in the auditeria at CMHS for students in grades 6-11 and their families on:

February 27 at 9 a.m.* (postponed to March 9 due to inclement weather)
March 3 at 3:00 p.m.
March 5 at 1:00 p.m.* and again at 6:30 p.m.
March 9 at 9 a.m.*
*Because this is during the school day, parents will need to enter at the front door and check  in at the main office to acquire a visitor's pass before reporting to the auditeria. If you can bring a license/state ID, the check-in process goes a lot faster.

You do not need to RSVP for the sessions--you can just show up.  With parent permission, a student whose parent is present can be called out of class on February 27 or March 5 to attend the presentation.

For those who have been through the counseling sessions in past years, we are also offering the option of electronic counseling presentations.  To complete this option, both parents and students need to read through the information below and sign both the Letter of Intent form and the counseling acknowledgement form agreeing that they understand the risks and benefits of the CCP program.

All students in grades 9-11 have been emailed the information above.  The Letter of Intent (all students must submit by April 1) and Authorization Form (new CCP students only) are available in the school counseling office and on the website.

Forms for 2020-2021 School Year:

Current CCP Students--Spring 2020
You should be working with your college adviser to schedule your off-campus (online and in-person) courses.  Make sure that you don't register for too many hours; you can take a maximum of 30 credit hours per year, including any high school courses you are taking.  For more information about the allowable number of hours, click here.

Students need to submit their class schedule to Ms. Beres for off-campus (including online) CCP classes as soon as they are registered.  If your schedule arrives after December 6 (or is incomplete), there is no guarantee that you will receive your books for the start of your class in the spring. When you submit your schedule, please make sure that you include the following information:

1. Course name (example: Music Appreciation)
2. Course number with section  number (example: MUS 1121-500)
3. Number of credit hours for each course
4. Whether the course will be online or in-person

We need all of the information above in order to ensure that your scheduling data is entered correctly and that you receive the correct books for your course.

Textbooks for Current CCP Students
Do not order/pick up your own books for fall unless you have been told to do so; in most cases, your books will be ordered for you, and you will pick them up at CMHS starting on January 6.  As long as you submitted your complete course list by , your books should be ready and you can stop by any time between 7:30-3:30 on January 6-10 to pick them up.

Should you drop/add a course before the term begins, we need to know as soon as possible so that we can get the correct books.

Please drop off your textbooks from your fall classes starting ASAP. They can be dropped off to the school counseling office and should be returned no later than December 18. If you fail to return any of the books, the cost of the book(s) will be added to your school fees.

A spreadsheet will be shared with all off-campus CCP students that shares how each student will get his/her books.  Some will need to be picked up at the book store, and others will be available at CMHS starting January 6.  Make sure that you check the document so that you know where to get your books.
